The Origin Certified Ibor Cheese Route, comprises 35 municipalities surrounding Trujillo, Villuercas, La Jara and Ibores.
Route:
Comarca de las Villuercas-Ibores.
Trujillo. A displays of impressive Historical Arquitecture can be found with Churches, parishes, civil buildings dated the 15th and 16th century. The Chees Fair takes place on the main square (Plaza Mayor) by end April - early May.
Madroñera, Aldeacentera. A splendid view over the surrounding landscapes from the top of the sierra.
Monastery of Guadalupe, then village of Alía, nestled at the bottom of the valley, along the river Guadarranque. Its Church Santa Catalina, is one of the most beautiful Moorish jewel of all extremadura
Navalvillar de Ibor, along the Ibor river, located on the slopes of the sierra de las Villuercas, also known for its famous embroidery Lagartera.
Castañar de Ibor, and not far away, the cave of the Castañar, declared Natural Monument, it harbours a subterranean lake and impressive formations of stalagtites and stalagmites.
Fresnedoso de Ibor, a village famous for its active craftmanship and embroidery traditions.
Bohornal de Ibor, with remains of a Roman Temple declared Historic Heritage Monument that belonged to the Roman village of Augustobriga.
End of the tour, we will then head to the agreed destination with the group. |
