The Extremenian dehesa has probably not much evolved over the last centuries, thanks to a scarcely populated area and the fact that the area has'nt suffered the effect of industrialisation. It represents a well kept balance between nature exploited by humans and conservation of the natural resources.

In the dehesa, agriculture is itinerant, with short periods of cultures, followed by longer periods allowing the ground’s regeneration. Consequently, the ecosystem goes through healthy cycles that benefit the fauna and flora.
